BSC welcome our new friends Christina and Roberto to our group.
The April monthly lunch was not held owing to lack of organiser.
It is proposed to hold the next BSC monthly lunch on May 25th at the Sirocco restaurant (formerly the Puerto Azul). Angret has offered to organise this event, so if you are interested in this event please advise Angret as soon as possible. More detail to follow.
The BSC July lunch was proposed to be at La Venus restaurant which Norma will research to make sure that both meat and fish are available and if so Norma will organise the lunch. More detail to follow.
A trip to Malaga wis proposed for the 29th June, the normal day for our BSC monthly lunch. The proposal is to visit both the Customs House the new Museum of Malaga. March 2017 Newsletter of this informal friendship group.
Norma continues to visit Mary and Jean in their care homes. Both appear to be in good spirits.
The February monthly lunch was held on Thursday 26th February at the Hong Kong Restaurant. Again, the location, service and quality and quantity of the special menu requested by Violette, was of an exception quality.
The February monthly lunch is to be scheduled to be held on Thursday 30th March. None of the Committee will be able to attend, so it is suggested that the venue, etc., be left open and that members wishing to attend an organised lunch could book with the San Cristobal restaurant who can readily take a booking at short notice. If any member wishes to propose and arrange an event specific for March it would be most welcomed.
The trip to Salon Varietes, Fuengirola, on 18th February for an ABBA tribute was well received and enjoyed by most of our members. However sound level was a little high which did concern one of our members who unfortunately had to leave earlier than planned. Yutta has information on future Salon Varietes’ productions up to 11th April which include a musical and a comedy-thriller.
The Committee are considering outings for the Spring but nothing has yet been arranged.

The British Social Club of Marbella (BSC) - February 2017 Newsletter of this informal friendship group.
It has been a terrible period for deaths and serious health issues for many of our members; let us hope that during the next few months our friends show some signs of improvement.
The January monthly lunch was held on Thursday 26th January at Sirocco Restaurant, formerly the Puerto Azul. It was unanimously agreed that with the change of management the location, service and quality and quantity of the menu del dia provided was of an exception quality. Definitely, a venue to visited again by BSC.
The February monthly lunch is to be held on Thursday 26th February at the Hong Kong Restaurant. Please advise Violette if you are likely to want to attend. The special multi plate menu will be on offer at €15, which includes the tip for the staff. Drinks need to be bought at the time of ordering. The lunch, as usual, will commence with arrival at 1.30pm for lunch to be served at 2.00pm.
Not all our attendees to our coffee mornings have offered to pay the €12 requested to cover day to costs in running BSC. May I remind everyone that they are encouraged to bring guests to all BSC events, however when a guest has attended 3 events, coffee morning, lunch or trip, they are expected to become a BSC member and make the same contribution that all other members have made. When attending our monthly lunch, all guests will be charged an extra €1 and on other trips a surcharge yet to be agreed.
The trip to Salon Varietes, Fuengirola, on 18th February for an ABBA tribute is already well under way. Angret has booked tickets for 12 of us and arranged a mini bus to be available for pickup in Marbella. Gigi has generously agreed to fund the cost of using the mini bus. If anyone once else is interested, please contact Angret immediately as we only have 1 seat left on the mini bus.

January 2017 Newsletter of this informal friendship group.
It is with sadness that I advise you that recently Fran has suffered a stroke. Having returned home from a stay in hospital, let us hope she makes a good recovery.
Due to lack of a quorum the January Committee meeting did not occur, hence this short message.
The January monthly lunch is to be held on Thursday 26th January at Sirocco Restaurant, formerly the Puerto Azul. Please advise Angret or Joan if you are likely to want to attend. No venue has been chosen for February.
Yutta continues to have up to date information of trips and cultural events for all who wish to contact her. She has details on Salon Varietes events for the next month or two.

It is with sadness that I must advise you that during the month both Ann Gray any Les Ramsay died. Both our friends will be sadly missed and our sincere condolences go to their friends and families.
Our thanks go to Norma for arranging Christmas cards and presents to be given, on behalf of BSC, to our currently infirm friends. Jean Lord has asked that you all be thanked for the gift she received.
The November monthly lunch was held on Thursday 24th November at Angolinos Restaurant. Although the meal was appreciated by those who attended the seating arrangement was very cramped and not terribly convenient. In my opinion, the inside dinning space is fine for a small number of dinners but not for a group of our size. During the lunch time, we presented to Ana Ortega Cruz, President, Marbella Voluntarios €1000 from BAM funds. Marbella Voluntarios are to use the money to make up baskets of Christmas food to distribute to needy families and senior citizens in Marbella. Subsequently, we have received formal notification that the money has been deposited into the bank of Marbella Voluntarios.
The Special Christmas lunch, consisting of all 4 starters, traditional Christmas Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, dessert, mince pies, wine and coffee was held at the San Cristobal restaurant on Thursday December 15th. Like the quiz, created by Joan, the whole event was a great success enjoyed by all who attended.
The January monthly lunch is to be held on Thursday 26th January at Sirocco Restaurant, formerly the Puerto Azul. Please advise Angret or Joan if you are likely to want to attend.
Yutta continues to have up to date information of trips and cultural events for all who wish to contact her. She has details on Salon Varietes Christmas events for the next month or two.
