The November monthly lunch was held at Angolino’s restaurant on Thursday 26th November. Although the seating was very tight for the attendees the meal was excellent. Many thanks go to Violette for arranging the event.
A very special Christmas lunch, again at San Cristobal similar to the very successful event last year, was held on Wednesday 9th December. As expected it was a great success in every aspect. Thanks was given to Joan for organising the event and for creating the special Christmas Quiz. Thanks go also to Angret, Joan H, Margaret, Norma and Violette who also made significant contributions in making this our best lunch of 2015.
The next BAM monthly lunch will be held at the Sol y Europa restaurant on Thursday 28th January. Please contact Violette, 952828988 by Monday 25rd January, to book your place for the lunch. The cost for the 3 course lunch, which includes the tip and the first drink will be €12. The lunch, as usual, will commence with arrival at 1.30pm for lunch at 2.00pm.
Violette’s special Tea Party that resulted in BAM’s charity donation of €310 to Triple A was presented to the organisation on Thursday 19th November. I am pleased to state that our press release of the event was published in both Sur in English and Euro Weekly News publications this week. Again, many thanks to Violette and the BAM members who in some way contributed to the event.
The BAM Charitable Donation proposed to be presented in February to SER HUMANO is on hold until full facts are known as to whether the organisation will remain solvent through 2016. Angret will coordinate our involvement with this organisation.
Violette together with Yutta are arranging trips into Malaga for early spring, possibly March, it is likely that these will involve Malaga’s Motor/Fashion and Thyssen museums.
Yutta has supplied me with information on the activities and events to be held at the Salon Varieties, U3A and the Costa del Sol Decorative & Fine Arts Society. For more details please contact Yutta, 952831289.

The October monthly lunch was held at the Sirocco restaurant on Thursday 29th October. I am advised by one or two persons who attended the event that on this occasion the food was not up to its usual standard. However, many thanks go to Violette and Joan who managed the event.
The next BAM monthly lunch will now be held at the Angolino’s restaurant on Thursday 26th November. Please contact Violette, 952828988 by Monday 23rd November, to book your place for the lunch. The cost for the 3 course lunch, which includes the tip, the first drink and coffee, will be €16.00. The lunch, as usual, will commence with arrival at 1.30pm for lunch at 2.00pm.
Remember, it has been agreed that we will raise funds for an animal charity, Triple A, with an afternoon tea in which each member who attends would bring a cake or other contribution and then pay €5 for the charity donation. Guests are welcome together with their €5. Violette has kindly offered the use of her house to host the event. This will take place on Thursday 19th November. Please advise Violette, 952828988 if you wish to participate.

This will immediately follow the BAM Wednesday morning coffee event which on this day only will commence later than usual at 12:00. The cost of this special lunch is €35. This includes a welcome drink, typical Christmas feast plus 4 different starters, or fish dish of the day, choice of drink with the meal, choice of dessert, mince pies, coffee and tip. A non-refundable deposit of €10 will be taken at the time of booking your place. Please contact Joan, as soon as possible, so that we can confirm numbers. Last date for receiving deposits will be Wednesday 2nd December
The BAM committee unanimously agreed that this year’s Charitable Donation will be presented in February to SER HURMANO where meals are provided for less fortunate and handicapped people of Marbella. Angret is to coordinate our involvement with this organisation. More details will be given nearer to the time of the event

The September monthly lunch was held at the San Cristobal restaurant, immediately after the BAM AGM, on Wednesday 23rd September. I am advised by those who attended that the event was extremely enjoyable and the food was excellent. Many thanks go to Joan and Angret who organised the event.
The next BAM monthly lunch will now be held at the Sirocco restaurant on Thursday 29th October. Please contact Violette, 952828988 by Monday 26thOctober, or Joan, 952835947 at the latest by Tuesday 20th October, to book your place for the lunch. The cost for the menu del dia lunch, which includes the tip and a first drink, will be €12.00.

It has been agreed that we will raise funds for an animal charity with an afternoon tea in which each member who attends would bring a cake or other contribution and then pay €5 for the charity donation. Violette has kindly offered the use of her house to host the event. This will take place on Thursday 12thor 19th November; the exact date yet to be confirmed. Please advise Violette, 952828988 if you wish to participate.
Plans are being made for a special Christmas lunch, possibly again at San Cristobal, and for Spring 2016 trips to Malaga’s Picasso and Thyssen museums.
Although not purporting to be BAM events:
BAM members can often be found attending the Scrabble event that takes place at 4pm on Thursdays at Luigi’s Bar, The Lucky Leprechaun. All are welcome to attend.
The Marbella Pensionista is organising a holiday to Portugal, 30th November until 5th December, which includes travel, hotel, all meals and excursions for €225 for a double and €135 for a single. Please contact Norma, 952860624, for details.

The August BAM monthly lunch was held at the Fontanilla restaurant; on Thursday 27th August. I am advised by those who attended that the event was enjoyable. Many thanks go to Paz, Joan and others who organised the event,
The next BAM monthly lunch will now be held at the San Cristobal restaurant, on Wednesday 23rd September. Lunch will be taken immediately after the BAM AGM which will be held at 12:00 in the San Cristobal Library, our normal BAM coffee morning room. Please contact Violette, 952828988 or Joan, 952835947 at the latest Monday 14th September to book your place for the AGM and also the follow on lunch. There will NOT be a coffee morning session prior to the AGM. The AGM lunch will begin with a complimentary glass of Cava at 1.45pm for lunch to commence at 2.00pm. The cost for the lunch, which includes the tip and a first drink, will be €14.00.
With regard to the BAM AGM, I call for all nominations for committee members to be received by Joan, 952835947 by Monday 21st September. Currently, I am advised that all existing committee members are willing to stand for another year. Please would current members confirm this fact with Joan?
BAM held a ‘Picnic’ on Thursday 10th September at the Palmyra Park in Marbella. Although only attended by nine members an excellent time was had by all.
Reminder: The Committee is considering offering members an evening to support a charity of our choice, but it is uncertain if numbers could be attained for an evening event.

The June BAM monthly lunch was held at the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant; on Thursday 25th June. All who attended were delighted with quality of food and service. Many thanks go to Violette, assisted by Len for arranging this fine venue and to Angret in ‘finding’ the extra funds. It was a pleasure to see Jean able to attend the event.
The next BAM monthly lunch will now be held at the Andana restaurant, on Thursday 30th July. Please contact Violette, 952828988, at the latest Monday 27nd July, to book your place. The lunch, as usual, will commence with arrival at 1.30pm for lunch at 2.00pm. The cost for the lunch, which includes the tip and a first drink, will be €12.
It has become an occurrence with some members to book a place at the monthly lunches and then cancel on the day, at the time of sitting down, via another member. This is causing embarrassment for the organiser so it was suggested that after two no shows without good reason we may ask the member on the third occasion to pay for the lunch in advance.
The following monthly lunch will be held, at the Fontanilla restaurant, on Thursday 27th August. More details will be forthcoming from Paz and Joan nearer to the time.
The Committee is considering holding a ‘Picnic’ on Thursday 10th September at the Palmyra Park in Marbella or if transport is available in Benhavis. We definitely need to know if this is of real interest to members. Please contact Violette, 952828988, during this month if you are interested to attend yourself and would like to bring a non-member. We need to know potential numbers prior to stipulating how the picnic can be provided. If we do not get your responses we will not hold the event.
